Hello Friends,

As the weather starts to cool down and fall begins, one of my family’s favorite things to do is to get moving, especially outside and into nature. We are lucky to have world class recreational amenities throughout the Tucson region. If you are looking for new adventures visit www.visittucson.org/things-to-do/outdoors/

We also have free events happening in our city parks throughout the month of October. Below is a schedule of when the City of Tucson Ready Set Rec program will be hosting free events at our eastside parks. Recreation specialists will setup interactive activities for all ages to enjoy. Including educational STEM activities, sensory focused activities and general play including: corn hole, hula hoops, giant chess, giant checkers, giant Connect 4, cards, music, dominoes, giant Jenga, giant ring toss, walking sticks, and much more. Are you looking to start a new hobby? City of Tucson fall leisure classes begin October 23- December 10. Professional instructors will be teaching classes for all age groups focusing on health and fitness, art, and educational enrichment. Anyone may register for classes; discounts will be given to city residents.

Individuals aged 60 and over, or their spouses of any age are invited to participate in the Senior Lunch and/or EnhanceFitness Program at the Williams Clements Center at 8155 E. Poinciana Dr. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The EnhanceFitness Program is from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Class includes warm-up, cool-down, low impact aerobics, strength training, balance training, and flexibility exercise. Healthy lunches are prepared at 12:00pm. A donation of $2-3 per meal is requested which helps to support the program. Meals are provided on a reservation basis and must be reserved the week prior by calling (520)791-5787.

Mark your calendars for the annual City of Tucson Boo Bash at Lincoln Park on Saturday, October 22nd at 4pm. Bring your family for a safe and fun Halloween event where you can trick or treat and participate in spooktakular games and activities including a costume contest. We look forward to seeing you out there. To learn more about all these opportunities and more, visit www.tucsonaz.gov/parks
