Hello Friends,

As we welcome Spring, we have many exciting opportunities for you in Ward 4. Last month we called on the community to submit their project ideas on how we could use the $250,000 allocated for Ward 4 investment. We appreciate everyone who took their time to come up with thoughtful ideas to make our community a better place for all. We are working through the cost and proposals, but I am excited to equally distribute the funds throughout our entire ward on projects that are meaningful to our residents. Stay tuned for the finalized list of projects.

We are asking for your feedback for the new Robert A. Price Sr. Park, to be located at Wilmot Road and just south of Valencia Road. Price was a developer who originally owned the land and dedicated the original footprint to the City of Tucson to build a park. The nearly $3.97 million project is budgeted in the 2018 Proposition 407 voter-approved bond package, with $2 million in impact fees to be built in 2023-2025. We would like the community to be involved in the master planning process to determine what should be built in the park. An online survey is open to provide your feedback. The survey will close on Sunday, March 20, at 11:45 p.m. https://bit.ly/robertpricepark

We celebrated our 1-year anniversary of the Ready, Set, Rec program where our Parks and Recreation Department hosts fun and engaging activities in our city parks. March 12, 9-11am they will be at Purple Heart Park and March 17, 11-1pm they will be at Lincoln Park. Check out the park’s website to see the full schedule at www.tucsonaz.gov/parks

Mark your calendar for Arbor Day April 29, 8am where we invite the community to help us plant 50 trees in Purple Heart Park. This is my second year hosting an Arbor Day tree planting celebration and am proud to make it happen again with the help of Tucson Clean and Beautiful and savings from my Ward 4 budget to install new irrigation within the park.

On March 30, 5:30pm the Ward 4 Town Hall will feature the City of Tucson Public Safety Departments where you may learn more and ask questions from our Tucson Police, Fire and 911 leadership. Check out our website, www.tucsonaz.gov/ward-4, for more details about these upcoming meetings and the Ward 4 Virtual Town Hall series.

I look forward to seeing you in Spring,
