It is hard to believe that we have come to the holiday season amidst a unique year. The year 2020 has unveiled many things. We have seen how important united communities are and the impact on businesses when we buy (or stop buying) local. We have seen people of all ages adapt by connecting on Zoom as well as helping neighbors in exceptional ways. The same is true for our local Boy Scout Troop 770. The Troop persevered through Covid and continues to meet via Zoom all the while celebrating victories virtually (Eagle Scout Michael McMurray and Matthew Fosdick) and continually growing its community with new Scouts.

However, several of this year’s fundraising activities had to be canceled. Much like the local businesses in town, the Scouts rely on the financial support of the community through dinners and car wash sales. The Troop evolved and has set a plan to fundraise over the holidays both online and in-person (using safety measures of course). We invite the community to use your holiday decorating dollars wisely by purchasing wreaths, Christmas decor and trees from Boy Scout Troop 770. Money raised goes directly back to your community and supports the success of these Scouts. The funding offsets the cost of campouts, gear, and community service projects.

Online wreath and other decorations can be purchased now at Sherwoodfundraiser.com/BSATroop770.

Christmas trees can be purchased in person starting November 27 at the American Legion Post 109 at 15921 S Houghton Rd, Corona De Tucson, AZ 85641.
