There was a letter to the editor that was published in the July issue of the paper about a private personnel matter regarding a principal in our district. The letter should not have been printed and I apologize for the error.

Dear Editor,

I recently learned that the City of Tucson is preparing another attempt to annex the Rincon Valley and possibly Corona de Tucson. This will be the second or third attempt in my forty years in Rocking K. Previously they used the tactic of surrounding us by annexing vacant state land which they never patrolled or maintained. Then the water threats they used on the northwest side were mentioned. Don’t get sucked in,the City of Tucson wants your tax money, but they have nothing to offer unless you like a government that flys a huge BLM banner on City Hall while trashing their own police dept. headed until recently by a sanctuary city California liberal chief.

The police dept. is grossly understaffed, demoralized and losing more officers each month.. I remember calling 911 to report a drunk driver that crashed into an elderly lady and getting a ” leave a message ” response. Tucson, the dirtiest midsize city in America where trash lines almost every street and highway and homeless and or drug addicted people are everywhere you look. Blue tarp shopping cart homes continue to line the alleys and empty lots. My childhood home on Swan and 16th St. is now the Bonillas Getto where drug gangs thrive and the few people that work live behind locked doors. The Tucson crime rate is skyrocketing with 9 more murders this year than last year so far.

If you want a model look at Green Valley. Clean and almost crime free, no city taxes just like the Rincon Valley.

Dear Editor,

The headline of this issue reads, “Best Of The Class : 2021”. We as a community are proud of these dedicated and hard working students. However, there are many students who are just as dedicated and hard working who face challenges such as dyslexia and situational disadvantages.

These challenges often hinder them from the highest scores. They, too, can be among the “Best In The Class” in all but testing.

Next year, please consider the headline “Top Of The Class: 2022”

Dear Editor,

My husband Alex and I have been living at our home on 12770 E Wentworth Ct, Vail, AZ for 36 years. South Wentworth Rd and other major roads in the area are in need of new paving, and in need of a couple of overpasses to divert the monsoon rain from flooding so that the roads are passable especially during an emergency. Last Sunday morning I experienced a medical emergency, and couldn’t get emergency services until hours later. Our high property taxes pay only for schools, and no other services? Where does the remainder of our tax dollars go? Now that our property taxes have crept up very high, we should demand services like fire, emergency services, law enforcement, higher speed internet and phone service, garbage pickup, gas utilities, and road maintenance. But we live in an unincorporated area so our property taxes should be low. We would be very happy that some of our high tax dollars are used to have good passable roads out here.
