By Stuart Nielson
In early 2020 as COVID-19 was ramping up, Stuart Nielson of Corona de Tucson hatched an idea. As an avid do-it-yourselfer from woodworking to laying pavers and everything in between, Stuart had accumulated tools, oftentimes opting to purchase instead of rent due to high rental prices. During this time, with every project Stuart undertook he often wondered to himself: “There is probably someone within a mile or two of me who has the exact tool I need, and I would be willing to pay to use it.” Stuart had the idea of an “Airbnb-like” service but for tools, where he could eliminate high rental prices by enabling tool renters to rent tools directly from their neighbors. Thus started Equiprr.

While building Equiprr Stuart wanted to ensure that members had the absolute best, most convenient rental experience. He knew it was important for members to feel safe tool-sharing with each other and so, working with an insurance provider he established transaction-level property protection, where each tool is protected from loss or damage during the rental period. Stuart then launched the Equiprr marketplace in January 2021 to serve the Vail, Corona de Tucson, and Rita Ranch areas.
Unlike traditional tool rental companies – Equiprr is a tool rental marketplace connecting tool lenders and tool renters together. Equiprr is available for anyone – individual or business – to lend and rent tools to and from each other. Tool lenders make money from tools they already own while tool renters save significantly over renting from traditional tool rental companies – sometimes a 75% savings or more!
Equiprr is not only your destination to lend and rent tools, but to connect with other do-it-yourselfers in the community. Visit Equiprr at www.equiprr.com and sign up today to rent or lend tools!
Equiprr is not affiliated with Airbnb.
