This Saturday, February 7th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Vail School District is hosting a job fair for teachers. If you’ve ever wanted to work at one of the top rated school districts in the country (or if you have teacher friends who envy our beautiful weather and are looking for a reason to move out here) this event is for you.

The fair is taking place at Desert Sky Middle School on 9850 E. Rankin Loop. The district is recruiting for teachers in all grades and subjects, including Special Education and Speech Language Pathologists.

Walk-ins are welcome, but only if there is availability. Scheduling your interview appointment in advance is highly recommended.

Aside from the school district being one of the best in the state, Vail School District also offers incentive opportunities, performance pay, mentors and coaches, professional development on-site and through district, and competitive benefits. Speech Language Pathologists receive sign-on and retention incentives above and beyond the already attractive benefits being offered.

How to Prepare for the Vail School District Teacher Job Fair

As with any job fair, preparation is key. We reached out to Jena Privette, PHR, the Human Resources Supervisor for the school district, and got these helpful tips for interested, qualified candidates.

What to bring

Complete a certified application prior to job fair. You can upload your supporting documents to the application (resume, references, cover letter). Feel free to bring copies of your documents to the fair.

What not to bring

Friends and family. This is a professional interview.

How to stand out

Dress for success! Wear professional attire. Be at your best. Smile! Arrive early and follow-up.

How to prepare

Do your homework. Learn about the Vail School District before your interview. Demonstrate that you are interested and have taken the time to learn about us. Think about how your experiences have prepared you for teaching in Vail, and be able to give short examples during your interview.

For more information or to get details about the job fair, contact Jena Privette directly at Privettej@vail.k21.az.us or call (520) 879-2047.
