The Vail School District has been hard at work awarding grants to the classrooms in the Vail School District. So far this school year, we have given away almost $7,000 in funds to your students. We have had grant requests approved for a 1st grade literacy program at Desert Willow Elementary and the Best Buddies Inclusion Club at Desert Sky Middle School to name a few. Our mission at the Vail School District Foundation is to champion efforts to enrich teaching, inspire learning, and enhance opportunities.
One way in which we raise funds to give out to our schools is through fundraisers. We would like to thank El Coronado for hosting a fundraiser last month. We hope you all took the opportunity to enjoy some delicious enchiladas while supporting a good cause!
We would also like to thank those who participated in this year’s annual Diaper Drive. The Vail School District collected over 100,000 diapers for the Diaper Bank of Southern AZ. Thank you to all the children and families who supported this important effort.
Back by popular demand is Taco Tuesday’s at Mr. Toro Carniceria. A portion of all taco sales will be donated to the Vail School District Foundation (VSDF) to support great learning experiences for Vail Students. VSDF will also be hosting a “Paint and Wine Party” on Friday, October 18th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Hacienda del Lago at 14155 E. Vía Rancho Del Lago.
