I-10, Vail, and Colossal Cave Improvements: This project has not started as of writing. We are assuming that they are waiting for school to be out for the summer break. We have made several phone calls to see if we can find out more. I will update as soon as I receive the information. This project will have major impacts to I-10, Colossal Cave Road, and the SR 83 bridge that crosses I-10.
Updates to Union Pacific Railroad to I-10 Construction: Traffic has been switched to the south bound side of Houghton. Ongoing work will continue where I-10 meets Houghton for a better traffic flow to get onto I-10. The northbound work is underway, and crews have begun clearing and grubbing the trees and dirt. This project is on schedule and progress is ongoing daily.
Traffic Signals, Rita, Kolb, and Wilmot at I-10: This project is still ongoing, ramp work and shoulder work continue. Crews are still awaiting the arrival of the traffic controllers and the signal poles.
Kolb and Valencia: The crews have made major progress since last month. Paving has begun on the closed section of Valencia. The new roadway is taking shape. Work crews continue the underground work along Kolb at Valencia. Soon the roadway will be complete, and traffic will be taken off the detour. Stay tuned for updates.
