1. What attracted you to your new role with the Chamber?
I was drawn to this role because of the Chamber’s unique position as a driving force for local businesses and community development. The opportunity to work with such a dynamic board and engage with passionate members of the Vail community is inspiring. I’m particularly excited about creating innovative programs that align with our community’s values and fostering partnerships that enhance our economic and cultural growth. The chance to lead an organization that plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Vail is both an honor and a challenge I’m eager to embrace.
2. What have you done in the past that has prepared you for your current role?
My career has been built on leadership roles that focus on organizational growth and community impact. I have managed diverse teams across multiple industries, honing skills in strategic planning, team leadership, and achieving measurable results. Additionally, my academic background in Organizational Leadership and my certifications have equipped me with the tools to manage complex operations effectively.
3. What has been the most challenging part of the job so far?
The most challenging aspect has been navigating the immediate expectations of rebranding and reinvigorating the Chamber after recent setbacks. It requires balancing the need for immediate action with the necessity of building trust and relationships with our members and the broader community. Listening, understanding different perspectives, and aligning everyone towards a common vision has been a rewarding but complex challenge.
4. What aspect of the job comes easiest to you?
Engaging with people and building connections comes naturally to me. I truly enjoy listening to members’ stories, learning about their businesses, and collaborating to find ways the Chamber can support their goals. Creating a positive and inclusive environment where ideas and partnerships can flourish is something I find both enjoyable and energizing.
5. What will be your top 3 priorities and why are they priorities?
1. Membership Growth and Engagement: Building a strong, engaged membership base is critical for the Chamber’s sustainability and success. By providing valuable benefits and fostering connections, we can ensure our members see the Chamber as an indispensable partner.
2. Community Advocacy: The Chamber needs to be a powerful voice advocating for local businesses and community initiatives. This involves actively working with local leaders and stakeholders to influence policies and create opportunities for growth.
3. Innovative Programming: Launching program initiatives that will position the Chamber as a thought leader and attract a diverse audience. These initiatives align with our mission to educate, empower, and engage.
6. What were you doing before you took this job?
Before stepping into this role, I collaborated with organizations to design strategies that enhanced efficiency, built inclusive cultures, and aligned with their missions. This foundation allows me to see the bigger picture and create meaningful impacts in my current role.
7. What do you like to do to relax or de-stress?
I enjoy spending quiet time outdoors, whether it’s taking a walk or simply appreciating nature. Reading inspirational books or listening to uplifting music helps me refocus and recharge. I also value time with my family, as they are my greatest source of support and joy. These moments allow me to step back, reflect, and return to my work with renewed energy and perspective.
