Since I have started as President & CEO of the Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce, I have been asked numerous times; “What is the chamber of commerce?” and “What does the chamber do?”
What is the Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce?
GVACC is a network of businesses that have joined together to improve economic, cultural, and civic affairs in the Greater Vail Area. These business members elect a board of directors to set policy and direction for the chamber. The staff works to implement the goals of the board of directors.
What does the Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce do?
The chamber exists as a bridge between businesses and the community. The chamber markets and promotes the products and services of our members to the community. We also provide businesses with the tools, techniques, and resources to maximize their profit and growth. By seeking to attract new industries, as well as making sure to maintain the existing industry, the chamber is a key part of the local economy.
The chamber’s ultimate goal is to create economic development that is both business smart and aligns with the values of the community. We work to ensure that the greater Vail area is developed in a way that is forward thinking, honors our past, and is prosperous for future generations.
Chamber members work together for the good of the community. We want to hear your comments, questions, and concerns regarding all aspects of the greater Vail area – whether it is an about an event or an economic development project. The chamber aims to be a forum for open conversations, in turn, creating a space where the community can come together with business leaders to have meaningful discussions on how to make Vail an even better place for all.
Coming soon! The Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce will have a new look and new office and co-working space between the tracks! We are also developing our social media platform to be a connection between the businesses that serve Vail and those who have made Vail their home.
