Are you a Pinterest fanatic? Do you browse catalogs and magazines trying to find inspiration from others? Then you won’t want to miss this in-person event where you get to peer into the backyards of fellow homeowners to gain inspiration for your home’s landscaping.

The Rita Ranch garden tour is a highly anticipated event where Vail residents can go house to house admiring the green thumbs of fellow neighbors.

The self-directed tour is open from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. You start at Purple Heart Park where you will pay the $5 donation to the Purple Heart Park Community Garden Project. In exchange, you’ll get a map of the participating houses. Walking and biking is an option, but only if you’re up for the fitness challenge. Carpooling is recommended.

This tour abolishes the idea that desert landscaping is boring. When you’re done admiring these local gardens, head back to Purple Heart Park for plants, seedling demos and giveaways. Note: You do not have to go on the tour to visit the festivities happening at Purple Heart Park throughout the day.

If you’ve been looking for new ways to spruce up your garden for the Spring, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
