On October 27th, a pickleball fun tournament was held at Del Webb, Rancho Del Lago. Pickleball is a fast growing paddle sport that combines some of the similar aspects of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. This event was, in part, a success due to the generous nature of wonderful local Vail area businesses: ACE Hardware (Houghton Road), ARBY’S, Arizona Pizza Company, Auto Zone, Baggins Gourmet Sandwiches, Bavilon Salon, Big ‘O’ Tires, Dairy Queen (Rita), Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Hotrods Old Vail, Jersey Mike’s Subs (Houghton Road), Mongomery’s Grill & Saloon, Pizza Hut (Houghton Road), One Nail Salon, Rancho Del Lago Golf Course, Rancho Rustico Restaurant, Subway (Houghton Road), Vail Nail & Spa, Casino del Sol and Truly Nolan. In addition to the tournament, participants held a food drive, and were able to donate 171 pounds of food items to the Vail Food Bank.
