Andrea was born and raised in Wisconsin. She is the mother of two adult sons and grandmother to four wonderful grandchildren. She retired in 2006 from Delphi Automotive after 30 years of service. Thirteen years ago, an employment opportunity for her husband Mike brought them to Tucson where they settled in Corona de Tucson.

In 2010, Andrea saw a notice on a community website seeking volunteers to assist seniors in our community (which became known as Corona Cares). She has volunteered in a number of capacities-providing transportation, caregiver relief, volunteer and recipient interview coordinator, and board positions. She is currently the vice president of Corona Cares.

In addition to volunteering with Corona Cares, she is passionate about animal welfare, which led her to create a nonprofit dog rescue called Passion 4 Paws So AZ. Dogs come into rescue for different reasons, including abandonment, owner surrenders, and from area shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia. Passion 4 Paws has placed a number of dogs, and a couple cats here in our community and beyond.

She believes that having older parents prepared and exposed her to the needs of seniors. Our community has unique challenges for seniors and Corona Cares strives to assist those who wish to remain in their homes longer and with dignity. She feels blessed to be part of the amazing group of volunteers called Corona Cares. She would encourage others to consider volunteering, which provides purpose and an appreciation for what others are experiencing. Her life is richer for this experience.
