For 87 years St. Rita in the Desert has been the faith center for Vail’s Catholic Christian life.

We have served the community through our daily Mass, Faith Formation classes, Outreach food distribution, clothing drives, the St. Vincent de Paul Conference, and the annual St. Rita Festival.

The festival, dating back to the 1990s, was always intended to be annual. There are many reasons, which include the pandemic, why the festival was suspended for a few years, but we are Rockin’ Back this year with our St Rita in the Desert 19th Annual Fall Festival.

Long-time Vail residents, and parishioners of St. Rita’s alike, have fond memories of the family fun at this community event. The festival is open to the public so we hope you bring your friends and neighbors. We think the Festival is as much a part of the Vail community as the “V” sign or the Train Depot.

The cost of admission is a smiling face and a desire to enjoy our community as we gather together. Come and join us at this two-day festival featuring the 50/50 Raffle with prizes, the Big Cash Raffle with a $2,500, $1,000, and $500 prize, the quilt raffle, craft vendors, a kid’s train ride, activities and games, food, drink (including adult beverages), a white elephant, and a silent auction. The Rincon Fire Department will have a fire truck on display (when not needed). Local artists and organizations will be displaying their talents for your free entertainment during the whole event. All donations benefit St. Rita in the Desert Catholic Church a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

Special thanks to all our Vail business and community sponsors. Our wonderful sponsors can be seen on our festival event Facebook page, and will be posted and announced during the festival event.

Come and join us. Come and create local memories of a lifetime celebrating our hometown Church as we are Rockin’ Back!
