Vail Road, Colossal Cave/I-10 Project: This project is well under way. Crews have the SR 83 bridge down to one lane. The bridge traffic is being controlled by a portable traffic signal. Periodic closures of the bridge will occur during nighttime hours so that crews can complete demolitions and begin the task of building the new bridge deck. Detour routes will be in place and will be accompanied by directional signs.

Once both sides of the SR 83 bridge are completed, crews will move to the Vail Road/Colossal Cave Bridge. Only the bridge crossing the eastbound lanes of I-10 will need to be done. The westbound side was replaced approximately 10 years ago.

Please obey all traffic control devices and signage during this phase of construction.

Rita, Kolb, Wilmot Traffic Signals: I have spoken with ADOT and they have informed me that there will be another 4-week delay on this project. They are having supply issues for the signal arms to complete the traffic signals. Once those signal arms are received, they will begin installation. Target dates are late September or early October. Striping and all the electrical work have been completed for each bridge.

Houghton and I-10: Final lift pavement was completed on this project the week of September 16th, 2019. Crews are beginning the final phase of this project. The first initial striping should be laid down the week of 9/23/19. Once the asphalt is cured, final striping will be installed. The speed limits will stay reduced in this area until the crews finish all items on the project.

Houghton/Valencia to Mary Ann Cleveland: Utility work is well under way on this project. Please stay aware and follow the reduced speeds in this area. Crews are working from Valencia Road to Mary Ann Cleveland Road. Traffic shifts will be necessary while they complete the installation of the new gas lines.
