Civano Animal Hospital and Emergency Center partners with national charity to provide state of the art, life-saving veterinary care to retired law enforcement and military working K9s of Arizona at a significantly reduced rate.
Dr. Alexis Roth, her husband and hospital administrator, Aaron Roth, and Dr. Lindsay Juhl at Civano Animal Hospital announced today a new partnership with the national charity, Paws of Honor. This partnership will expand the Paws of Honor Veterinary Program into the southern AZ area and provide state of the art, life-saving veterinary care to retired law enforcement and military working K9s at a significantly reduced rate. It will be the first of its kind in the Tucson area.
“These working dogs are often the first and last line of defense in the war on terrorism. These dogs have never been more important than they are now. Unfortunately, the government actually classifies these loyal dogs as equipment, and once decommissioned, they are seldom afforded any benefits or veterinary care. It’s not fair to put that burden on their handlers, who themselves are heroes. These working dogs deserve to be honored and taken care of,” says Bob Youngblood, Founder and President of Paws of Honor.
“Giving back to our community and military is vital to us as hospital owners. We are grateful for our new partnership with Paws of Honor and look forward to the help it will allow us to provide our servicemembers and their families,” says Dr. Alexis Roth, Veterinarian, and owner of Civano Animal Hospital. “It is heartwarming to see the efforts our owners put towards giving back to families in Tucson, and I am so excited to see the hospital partnering with such an amazing organization. I can’t wait to see this flourish,” says Loree Kester, assistant hospital administrator.
The benefits of this new partnership include:
Showing our love and support for our local law enforcement and military heroes
Providing advanced, high quality veterinary medical care, to our K9 heroes free of charge
Giving back to our community at a local level where it is needed most
