Troop 770 has been busy! Since returning from a very successful summer camp at Camp Lawton on Mount Lemmon, the Scouts of Troop 770 have been seen at the 2nd Annual “A Colossal Fourth.” There, the Scouts assisted in children’s games area. And after a magnificent fireworks show the scouts helped with the cleanup efforts.
No rest for the weary! Just several hours later Troop 770 Scouts were formed up, and stepped off promptly at 7:00 AM in the 4th of July Parade. Our Scouts marched proudly, and gave out small American flags to onlookers along the half mile stretch.
During the week of July 9th to the 14th, Boy Scout Troop 770 sent four motivated scouts to the National Youth Leadership Training at Camp Lawton on Mount Lemmon. During this week, Billy Howe, Kyle Bowles, Michael McMurray, and Wyatt Stoddard were exposed to concepts of what a leader must be, what he must know, and what he must do. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on how to. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol of Scouts seek to discover the meaning of leadership.
As always, Boy Scout Troop 770 seeks boys 11 to 17 years old and adults who may want to serve on our committee, be an assistant Scoutmaster, or a merit badge counselor. Troop 770 meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the American Legion Post 109.
