On March 29th, Tay’s BBQ greeted the citizens of Corona de Tucson. Located right next to Tay’s Brew House, this new BBQ spot offers an assortment of barbequed favorites for the community to enjoy. The first day was jam-packed and filled with high energy as people came to experience the grand opening. Familiar faces who work for Tay’s Brew House work the BBQ joint as well. They had a lot on their plate the first day, but they had smiles on their faces through it all. Like Tay’s Brew House, Tay’s BBQ is owned by Natasha Herzig. The Vail Voice had the pleasure of asking Herzig about the new establishment and her positive intentions behind it.
Vail Voice: What made you want to open Tay’s BBQ?
Natasha Herzig: Our family opened Tay’s BBQ to meet the needs our ever- growing community. It was important that we could provide a place for the community and our neighbors to gather and enjoy some delicious BBQ. Our wood benches allow for strangers to become friends, having to share the table.
VV: Why barbecue food?
NH: We chose BBQ because it’s delicious, an overall type of food that is popular and enjoyed by many. BBQ provides an atmosphere of being at your neighborhood cookout! Who wouldn’t enjoy some good food with a cold beer or soda, and all while your kids are playing on the grass! You can also enjoy yourselves sitting next to our fire pits, socializing with friends and family. For those who are interested in watching a sports game, we have that too!
VV: What was opening day like?
NH: Opening day went great and was an exhilarating experience for us. It has been so humbling to see the overwhelming support from the community. As for now, the restaurant is busy and thriving and we are so excited to see what the future holds for Tay’s BBQ. We have some really great plans coming up for our valued customers!
We offer meats by the pound all freshly smoked in a wood smoker by our BBQ Pit Master, meal combos and kids meals. We also have a cocktail bar, offering beer, wine and spirits. We are currently open Fridays and Saturdays 4 PM to 9 PM but we plan to be open additional days in the future. Once you have finished your delicious food, don’t forget to stop in next door to Tay’s Brew House for some yummy dessert! We offer ice cream, local pastries, milkshakes and a variety of coffee and non –coffee drinks!
VV: Where would you like to see it grow? Perhaps in a year. Where would you like to see Tay’s BBQ in a year?
NH: Tay’s BBQ hopes to grow and continue serving our community for many years to come!
