Hydrate Vail, it’s getting hot!
Water is a life source. It’s so important for our health not just physically, but emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually as well.
Throughout history, water has been an essential resource of great significance. Some pay homage to water “elementals”. The ancient Greeks knew water nymphs. In European folklore, they worshipped water sprites. They would preside over fountains, well springs, streams, and other freshwater bodies. In Asia and Africa there were goddesses and gods of the rivers, or protectors of seafarers. Water sprites are prevalent in Native cultures as well. Even rainstorms had their gods. Do you know such beings? I believe our ancestors were right to place such significance on water.
How interesting that almost three-fourths of the Earth is covered by water. It is similar to the amount of water in our brain, heart (both 73%), and our entire body (60%). What similarly balanced beings we appear to be. If we follow Earth’s example and stay well hydrated, it allows our body to:
- Grow cells, which all body parts are composed of.
- Manufacture proper hormones and neurotransmitters for cell communication.
- Digest, lubricate joints, cushion or absorb shocks.
- Deliver/soak up nutrients and oxygen throughout our systems.
- Flush body waste.
- Regulate body temperature.
Water is integral to our bodily functions. When we keep our body fresh and fluid-filled, cells have ample fuel for regular functions, thus life flows! As water dismantles internal blockages, our mind/body/Spirit systems can operate properly, our energy levels increase, and we are in flow too.
No wonder our predecessors acknowledged the divinity of water. It was a blessing that gives life. Use water to your benefit. When your body is in a healthy state, your mind and Spirit can be as well.
Share and care. Take care of the water in our area. Keep it clean, be safe, and use this powerful element wisely so we can share with the plants and wildlife around us, and our posterity.
