Our local coffee house (Viva Coffee House), announced a “Teen Ad Contest” this spring, to give a boost to young people interested in careers in design, marketing and the craft coffee industry. The contest called for local students to submit original ads highlighting Viva Coffee House for a chance to win prizes, including:
1st Place – a $250 Visa gift card from Hughes Federal Credit Union; 2nd place – a $50 Viva Coffee House gift card and a chance to train this summer in barista skills; 3rd place – a $10 Viva gift card and a day of barista training.
“We wanted to give local teens a positive reference for their resumes, experience in specific professions, and prizes,” says Viva Marketing Director, Kelly Walker. “We were thrilled to receive 11 entries from teens and two entries from pre-teens. We hope to turn this into a regular scholarship next year. Thank you to Hughes Federal Credit Union, the Greater Vail Chamber and the Vail Voice, along with local schools for helping make it possible.”
