Road Construction Update
Houghton Road/Over Union Pacific Railroad
Construction crews have made great progress. The bridge girders for the southbound side of Houghton are now in place. Work on retaining walls continues. Houghton Towne Center access off of Houghton is still closed. Please enter off of Old Vail Road. Strict enforcement of the speed limit is being utilized in this work area. Slow Down and stay aware.

Updates: Union Pacific Railroad to I-10 construction:
Bid advertisement was offered for the section of Houghton Road from the railroad bridge to I-10 and has been pushed back to 07/26/18. The city of Tucson will be handling the bid proposals. Cost is estimated at 5-10 million dollars for this section. More information to follow soon on this project.
Arizona Department of Transportation Updates
Traffic Signals, Rita, Kolb and Wilmot at I-10
No activity has been started. Crews should have been given the notice to proceed. As of this writing, there were no further updates available.
Wilmot & I-10:
The median pavement is complete and traffic has been detoured onto the temporary bridge. Be alert to traffic changes and periodic lane closures along the interstate. The bridge deck along I-10 eastbound has been demolished and work is progressing. Slow down and keep our road crews safe.
Mary Ann Cleveland/Atterbury Wash Way:
The signal has been energized and is now fully operational. Crews will make adjustments as needed. Some finishing work will continue for the next few weeks, (signage, curb work and striping).
Kolb/Valencia:
Work on this project will begin on 7/23/18. Traffic shifts will begin on that day. Major restrictions are expected at this intersection during the improvements. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction for this 12-month project. Expect major traffic delays. Alternate routes are recommended. Further information will be available about this project soon.
Houghton/Drexel:
Work is set to start on this intersection in the very near future. Further details will be available soon.
