The Vail Chorale has been busily preparing for its Spring 2018 concerts, and is eager to welcome choral music lovers to attend performances on Saturday, April 14th at 3:00 pm at the Arizona Senior Academy (in Academy Village/Altura) and on Sunday, April 15th at 3:00 pm at the Del Webb Lodge (in Rancho del Lago).

Founded in 2011, the Greater Vail Area’s only non-auditioned intergenerational community chorus has evolved into a cultural institution, providing music-making camaraderie for those who sing, and quality musical entertainment for those who attend performances. Audience members frequently comment that the enthusiasm of the singers is contagious, and the harmonies are wonderful to hear.

The concert theme is “The Vail Chorale on Broadway,” and the program features Broadway favorites from yesteryear and today, including selections from The Sound of Music, Man of La Mancha, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Lion King, Wicked, Rent, Hamilton, and more.

The Vail Chorale is directed by Brianna Petty, who took over leadership last year after founding director Fritz Reinagel relocated out of state. Under the able musicianship of Petty and assistant director Melissa Hale, the Vail Chorale has continued to thrive. This season the chorale has welcomed a new accompanist, Shantell Funckes, following the departure of long-time and much beloved accompanist Marilee Leishman, who now cares for her family members.

The concerts are free and open to the general public, with donations gratefully accepted. For more information, visit www.thevailchorale.org, or contact us at thevailchorale@gmail.com.
