Whelen Engineering Company Inc. and Southwest Smokeless will present the Southwest Tour Trucks at Tucson Speedway on Saturday.
Points leader Ed Cutler will head into the night with just five points over Zack St. Onge. Ronnie Davis sits only two points out of second.
Tucson Speedway’s T-Town Trucks will join the field. “It will be two races in one making it that more entertaining for the fans,” said Vern Williams, one of three officials who travel with the series.
“We get the job done,” Williams said. “We make sure everyone is on the up and up.”Stops on the tour include Irwindale, Las Vegas and Blythe, among others. “You have to understand how to drive each track, because they are all different,” Williams said. He added that the officials and drivers look forward to their experience in Tucson and learning what to expect at the 3/8th-mile oval.
With $1,000 to win, the division will provide an action-packed night of racing.
Also entertaining fans Saturday will be the NASCAR Late Models, Modifieds and Bombers.
