Contest sponsored by the Heat Optimist Club of Southeast Tucson. Both girls won at the Zone level and went on to compete in the AZ District competition April 27th. Karah placed first in the competition, earning a $2500 scholarship for college. Karah will go on to compete in the Regional Optimist International Oratorical Competition on July 18 where each regional winner wins a $15000 scholarship. The Optimist Oratorical competitions are held annually in the spring and sponsored by local Optimist International Clubs.
