On Tuesday, October 2nd, the Pima County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $180,000 project to upgrade and redevelop Manny’s RV Park at the Pima County Fairgrounds. The funding for this capital improvement project will come from the Southwestern Fair Commission at no cost to Pima County.

RV Park improvements will include upgrading the existing infrastructure, widening RV spaces, adding more electrical to the northwest portion of the fairgrounds and improving the roads in the park, which is primarily used for livestock, horse shows, and 4-H events. “The newly designed and improved RV Park will better serve fairground operations, replace old utilities, and provide fairground users with better facilities,” said Jon Baker, Executive Director of the Southwestern Fair Commission in a letter provided to the board explaining the need for the improvements.

The commission approved this capital improvement project for the fiscal year 2018-2019 budget during its June 14 meeting. However, before the project could move forward, Pima County, as the property owner, had to sign off on the expense.

Manny’s RV Park at the Pima County Fairgrounds offers RV accommodations for several events year-round in addition to hosting RV shows a couple of times a year. For more information on the Pima County Fairgrounds, visit www.pimacountyfair.com.
