Snakes

What do you do if you find a snake in your yard, property, car, or home? Call 911.

Stay away from the snake. Do not bother the snake. Do not poke or throw anything at the Snake. Call 911 and tell the dispatcher that you have a snake, let them know where the snake is/was located. Dehydration

Dehydration is very serious and can lead to injury or even death.   It is summertime in our area and it is very dry. The fastest way to tell if you are getting dehydrated is to track the frequency and color of your urine output. If it is a dark, tea-like color you need to drink more water.

Other signs that you may be dehydrated include:

  • Headaches
  • Increased thirst
  • Dry mouth and chapped or cracked lips
  • Tired, sleepy, low energy, fatigue, loss of strength
  • Decreased urine output
  • Urine is low in volume and more yellowish or darker than normal
  • Hot and or dry skin
  • Muscle cramps, weakness
  • Dizziness

 Do not hesitate to call 911 if you have a medical emergency, need a public assist, have a snake or your smoke detector is on the fritz. Do be truthful with the 911 operator. When you call 911 the operator will ask you a series of questions, please be truthful with all questions. These questions will not delay our response. You will be asked if the patient or anyone in the home has a cough, please be truthful. If someone has a cough we need to know so we can protect you, your family, the patient and our first responders, including their families. Surgical masks are proving effective in curtailing the spread of COVID-19 from a person with a cough. We are asking you to please advise the 911 operator if there is anyone in the household who has a cough, so that we, your first responders can get a mask to that person before entering your home.
