Helping feed hungry Vail families with emergency food supplies, supplementing the weekend diets of some of our local students through the “back pack” program, and sending meals to home-bound seniors are the essential work of ReSources Vail Food Bank. Our success in these endeavors depends on your donations, so as the new year approaches, we hope one of your resolutions will be to support ReSources through the Arizona State Charitable Tax Credit. This is a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit which allows a donation of up to $400 for those filing individually and up to $800 for those filing as married couples. Why not keep your charitable dollars working in the local community while reducing your tax burden to the state! For more information, please visit: www.resourcesvail.org
This fall has been a busy season for Greater Vail Community Resources. With your help our November 3rd fundraiser, the Vail Championship Golf Tournament, netted more money than ever before and we welcomed many new players to the competition. The weather could not have been more beautiful, and the Del Lago Golf Course venue was in tremendous condition for this annual event. Holding the First Responder trophies for the coming year are: Ryan Ake, Stan Eckert, Gary Maynard, and Chris Rebeck. The Open Cup winners are: Diego Guerrero, Max Kruegar, Dylan Mattson and Sam Salisbury, and the High School Cup went to: Daniel Henely, Kyle Irwin, Koshi Obokuro and Marcus Olona. Congratulations to our winners and thanks to all the sponsors and volunteers who made the tournament possible.
And finally, don’t forget to spice up your Christmas shopping routine with a visit to the Vail Depot Thrift Store to find that unique gift at a bargain price! Located “between the tracks,” the inventory is surprisingly varied, changes daily and all proceeds go to support the charitable work of ReSources. Happy Holidays and best wishes for 2019 to all our clients, donors, volunteers and supporters!
