Look for the helpers.  That’s what I tell my three little ones when they are discouraged by all the events taking place around us.  At 2, 4, and 6, their access to television is still pretty limited.  But, as we navigate throughout our community, it’s shocking how much they hear and see.  My response?  Taken right from an episode of Mr. Rogers neighborhood.  When Mr. Rogers was little and scared of things he saw in the news, his mother would tell him to “look for the helpers, you will always see people who are helping.”

Greater Vail Community ReSources has compiled a wonderful team of helpers.  Look for them – handing out food at ReSources Vail Food Bank, volunteering at the Vail Depot Thrift Store, delivering meals to seniors, and supporting members of our community who are in need.

Ways you can help:

  • Donate to ReSources Vail Food Bank.
