As a mother of 4 children, I know how important routines are for an atmosphere of harmony. With school and activities in full swing, we can find ourselves overwhelmed, frenzied, or falling short. To combat this, choose to incorporate positive energy. By positive energy, I don’t simply mean think happy thoughts like Peter Pan might advise. I suggest handing your children, and yourself, tools to increase positive interactions throughout the day. Utilize body, mind, and spirit to find balance in daily life.
I start my family’s day off not only with healthy meal choices, but with vitamins and essential oils selected specifically for each member’s needs. You can employ muscle testing to determine the quality and quantity of necessary nutrients. Essential oils can help focus the mind, clear negative energy, and inspire, whether applied directly, diffused, or used in green cleaning agents. Some essential oil blends are specially formulated to promote healthy boundaries or even improve mood.
However, when we’re on the go, using our mind and body alone to create positive energy is a wonderful go-to. I apply the “cutting cords” method, which is an unplugging from drama or negativity. I have my children visualize taking a sword (their hand) and slicing negative ties from in front of their body. They then “throw” the negative energy deep down into the ground or over to God. Next, they clap to break up the energy pattern. And finally, they do a short grounding exercise. I get to laugh when my five-year-old tells me to “cut the cords, mom!”
Another tool to increase positive energy is to set a positive daily intention through visualization or prayer. Do this together upon waking or on the go. Practice gratitude and supportive mental imagery in this process to really bring it to life. For more ideas or specific concerns, get in touch!
