NJROTC Cadet Joy Ojala was awarded a Navy ROTC Preparatory scholarship from Arizona State University and a University of Arizona Presidential Navy ROTC Scholarship. These two scholarships are unique because they are only awarded to Navy JROTC Cadets pursuing Engineering, Math or Science degrees. The scholarships pay for all tuition, fees, books and room and board during the Freshman year. At the successful completion of the Freshman year the scholarships convert to a 4-year full funded Navy ROTC scholarship. This is the first year Arizona State University offers this scholarship to NJROTC Cadets.

NJROTC Cadet Quintin Sherrod was awarded an Appointment to the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School at West Point. Once he completes his preparatory year he will join other distinguished Vail NJROTC alumni who are also attending West Point.
