Many thanks to all of you folks who came to the American Legion Post 109 family home to enjoy breakfast upon the re-opening of the Post 109 dining room. We were very pleased with the number of guests we served. Volunteers fully enjoyed seeing folks walk away with a smile on their face and a full tummy.
Your support, along with the support of our wonderful community-based newspaper, The Vail Voice, translates to more contributions to our patriotic, non-profit organization which helps America’s veterans and the Post 109 community outreach.
The public is welcome at all meals served in the dining room and breakfast is served most Saturdays and Sundays.
A big event at Post 109 will be the October 13th Poker Run. The run will begin with registration starting at 9 AM at the Thunder Mountain Moose Lodge at 2442 South Harrison Road, Tucson, and it will end at Post 109 at 5 PM where there will be fun, food, raffles and free live entertainment for folks 21 and over. The public Is welcome, and all proceeds will go to “Tucson Area Marine Moms,” who ship 50-70 “Care Packages” to our deployed troops serving America in foreign lands on a quarterly basis. Each package contains up to $100 of very appreciated and much needed personal care items. Post 109 American Legion Riders are coordinating this very event. If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact April at 520 891-2288 or Marla 520 780-6122.
The Post 109 family always welcomes new members, United States Veterans of numerous eras, and certain family members of same are eligible. There are always membership applications in the dining room and the post lounge.

As you drive by Post 109 in October, you will note the U.S. Navy flag flying on the stanchion by the F-4. Happy birthday to the United States Navy (243 years on October 13).
