Students from Cienega High participated in the recent Arizona Envirothon held this past April from the 20th to the 21st. The environmental science contest was held atop Mingus Mountain. Students competed in field events and presentations to demonstrate their mastery of environmental science principles – focusing this year on “Western Rangeland Management: Balancing Diverse Views.” Students sampling and tested water, collected and analyzing soils, and surveyed forest and range plants.
