I agree with Supervisor Christy’s District 4 Update in the April issue of The Vail Voice about safety and speeding on Wilmot. I see the same problems every time I drive on Houghton between Interstate 10 and Sahuarita Road.
The answer to this problem should be more traffic enforcement. Speed is not the only serious problem. Passing in no passing zones at high speeds and tailgating contributes to safety issues. Section 28-693, Arizona Revised Statutes states, if your driving puts other persons or property at risk, you may be charged with reckless driving. Reckless driving is defined as driving 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.
