The Arizona Nurse Honor Guard exists to comfort loved ones and honor fallen nurses for their stewardship and compassion to serve others. Members of the Honor Guard will attend services wearing the traditional white uniform with cap and cape. They will stand guard at the nurse’s casket or simply provide a presence at the visitation. The Nightingale Tribute is read at the funeral or during a special service. The family is presented with a Florence Nightingale lamp. All services are performed free of charge and may be arranged at the request of family and/or friends.

Active and retired nurses can volunteer their time to travel within the Pima county area as part of the Nurse Honor Guard. It is a privilege for the members of the honor guard to recognize nurses and help bring peace to mourners during their time of loss.

The Pima County chapter will be available for services starting September 1. If you are interested in volunteering or having the Honor Guard at a memorial, please contact us.
