The Tucson Wildlife Center (TWC) was established in 1998 by Lisa Bates and Peter Lininger and is dedicated to the rescue, emergency medical care and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife before return to the wild, while also promoting education, habitat protection and peaceful coexistence with wildlife.
In 2017, TWC took in more than 3,400 injured or wild animals and is the only wildlife rehabilitation center left in Southern Arizona that can handle the volume and diversity of wildlife in immediate need of rescue.
TWC staff and volunteers rescue and care for wildlife 24/7, 365 days a year. It is the only full-service, state-of-the-art wildlife rescue hospital in Southern Arizona. Services are provided free to the public. We serve eight counties: Pima, Pinal, Gila, Graham, Cochise, Santa Cruz, Greenlee, and Yuma. On average, the cost to run the Center is more than $1,000 a day.
TWC is a nonprofit and receives no government funding for the services provided to wild animals and the people who contact us.
