The Heat Optimist of S.E. Tucson hosted a club and zone level Oratorical Contest. Briana Ede, a Sr. from Tanque Verde High school, and Allison Peck, a Sr. from Andrada Polytechnic High School, were the finalists at the Zone level contest. They both participated in the District Oratorical contest on May 30. Briana finished third and was awarded a $1000 scholarship. The 2nd place winner received a $1500 scholarship and the 1st place winner received a $2500 scholarship and will move on to the Regional contest. The winner of the Regional contest moves forward to the Optimist International Oratorical Contest. Scholarships are available to winners at all levels of competition.
