From Councilwoman Nikki Lee

I am very honored to have the privilege of representing Ward 4 and being your voice on the Tucson City Council. When my husband and I decided to raise our family in Tucson, we did it because we fell in love with this city. But even with a Master’s degree in business and technology, I had a hard time finding a locally-based job here. I ran for City Council because I want to help provide better opportunities for people at all levels in our city. That includes supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses, creating a strong, diversified economy and job market, and helping our community realize growth opportunities in a sustainable way. During my campaign I spoke to thousands of Southeast Tucson residents, listening to their concerns. The loudest message I heard was to invest in our roads, parks, and public safety. We all agree we want a safe and livable community and I intend to fight for the residents of Ward 4 to ensure we get our fair share of city infrastructure funding.

Your input is very important to me. We hosted our first constituent event, Cocoa with the Councilwoman, 10 days after I took office, and I’m looking forward to more events that give me the opportunity to hear directly from you. Our first Ward 4 Townhall is scheduled for March 26, 5:30pm at the William Clements Center, and we will focus on roads, parks and public safety.  I hope you can join us so you can learn more about the upcoming investments in Southeast Tucson, including a new police substation and Purple Heart Park improvements; and we can learn more about your concerns and ideas for our community.

As a Veteran, I know first-hand the challenges that face us. I serve on a Congressional Veteran’s advisory committee and want to hear your voice. I am putting together a new Ward 4 Veteran’s Advisory Council. If you are a Veteran and would like to serve on this Council, email my Team your resume and letter of interest.

Our first monthly newsletter will go out in the Spring. If you would like to receive it, email my Team and we will get you added. To find information on City resources and how to report graffiti, code violations, potholes and much more visit www.tucsonaz.gov/i-want-to
