Vail Academy and High School’s (VAHS) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the National Leadership Conference held in Baltimore, from June 26th through the 2nd of July. Students competed in events they qualified at our state leadership conference, attended workshops, and had the opportunity to sightsee in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. One of our high school members, Milana Marshall (also Arizona FBLA state president), made it to the finals. Two of our middle level competitors, Isaac Beutler and Mazalina Marshall, took second place for their community service project, “Happy Notes.” Mazalina took home an additional honor as the National Youth Leader.

These students have been working year round on their projects, fundraising, and community service. There are several events members attend throughout the year to enhance their business savvy. VAHS students attended: Leadership Camp, CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organizations) on Ice, FLEX (Fall Leadership Extravaganza) Conference, Regional Leadership Conference, State Leadership Conference and National Leadership Conference. We would like to thank our school and community for their support. As always, we welcome visits from managers and business owners to guest teach our business management students and appreciate any financial support local businesses and individuals are willing to give. Please contact cochrann@vailschooldistrict.org for details on how you can support this educational/competitive program at VAHS.
