The Vail Voice congratulates our recent high school graduates and our graduated NJROTC cadets (page 26) as they continue on their path to military service.
We continue to have information on new construction and new businesses. For example, we have a story on a new library coming to the Vail area (on page 21). Similarly, (on page 11), the Vail School District reports on big changes coming to the community and how this impacts our schools and community. Of special significance, is the question of a bond election. Read their report, and let The Vail Voice know your thoughts; send your letters to editor@thevailvoice.com. Not specifically mentioned in the report is the quality of education in Vail. Anne Gibson (on page 12) reports on how Vail schools ranked in the state. We have an update regarding educational funding from the state, (on page 14), from Stacy Winstryg. Our readers know that teacher pay has long been an issue and (on page 15), John Carruth, Associate Superintendent, gives us an update on the “Tiny House Project.”
Summer is upon us (officially the 21st of June). On page 34, we have some good information on what to plant for summer shade and what the weather in June might be like.
Finally, we welcome a new writer to our cadre of volunteers. Retired art professor, David James, writes “All About Art” (on page 31). We are fortunate to have such a group of accomplished individuals as part of The Vail Voice team.
