The Vail Chorale is eager to invite the Greater Vail community to attend performances of their Fall 2018 concerts, to be held Saturday, November 3rd at 3:00 PM at the Arizona Senior Academy (in Academy Village/Altura) and on Sunday November 4th at 3:00 PM at the Del Webb Lodge (in Rancho del Lago).
The Fall Concert theme is “Music of the ‘40’s” with modern jazzy arrangements of well-known tunes such as “Taking a Chance on Love,” “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “As Time Goes By,” “It Had to be You,” and “God Bless America.” Also on the program is “What a Wonderful World” which comes from the 1960’s. Made popular by Louis Armstrong, the song captured the style and spirit of the ‘40’s.
Since 2011, the Vail Chorale has been entertaining local audiences who frequently comment that the enthusiasm of the singers is contagious. The Vail Chorale remains a non-auditioned intergenerational community chorus, providing music-making camaraderie for those who enjoy singing in harmony.
The chorale’s leadership team consists of Brianna Petty, now in her second year as music director, Melissa Hale, assistant director, and accompanist Shantell Funckes. Concerts are free and open to the general public, with donations gratefully accepted. Bring your friends and family to the fall concert for an afternoon of sheer musical pleasure!
