Several months ago, I wrote an article discussing the purposes of the Greater Vail Chamber of Commerce. The chamber’s primary purpose is to further the interests of local area businesses. The Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce is business focused, yet community minded.
The chamber is interested in furthering the needs of the community. We primarily do this by helping our businesses succeed. Our goal is to have more involvement with the community. To do this, we have partnered with the Vail School District Foundation to offer Community University. Community University is free to the public and held the 4th Tuesday of each month, at the Vail Chamber Connection. We are always looking for new and exciting classes to present. Reach out to us on Facebook and send us your ideas. This past month we had a full house with our basic first aid class to keep yourself and your family safe this summer.
The chamber would like to see more community members involved in chamber events. Chamber events are not just for members. When we have ribbon cutting ceremonies, this is a great way for local residents to engage and show support for the growth in our area.
We had an amazing time at the JW Marriott get together, celebrating the success of our businesses at the Vail Takes Flight Gala. Although these events are geared to business, residents of the community are more than welcome to join and participate.
The big event the Chamber does to connect business with community is VailFest held at the Pima County Fairgrounds. This will be October 26th, 2019 and is for the whole family with food, fun, music and games.
And, to close, if you are a homebased business and need a quiet and comfortable place to work with this summer, check out the Vail Chamber Connection. Day use office space is available.
