Nearly two years ago a vision set the course to identify the person that would become a champion for business owners and a catalyst for growth in the greater Vail area. Touted as one of the fastest growing regions in Southern Arizona, Supervisor Steve Christy has referred to Vail as the “Crown Jewel of Pima County.” The Vail School District is expanding by over 400 students per year; Houghton Town Center has realized a successful completion of its first phase and is moving towards phase two; Arby’s quadrupled its goal during its grand opening; and Jersey Mike’s was the number one store in its franchise for two weeks straight! These are all exciting indicators of what is to come.
It was apparent there is a great opportunity for the chamber to invest in someone who could actively participate in shaping the future of our region. It is likely that you already know MaRico Tippett. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Callie, and a proud dad to their three children. As a retired Lt. Colonel with the United States Air Force, MaRico is familiar with the culture of a military community. As residents of Vail, the Tippett’s are passionate about our community and the inherent qualities that make it so dynamic. The Hopman Group has penetrated new milestones in the financial service industry, through MaRico’s leadership as a local business owner. In addition to his love for his family, his country, business owners, and our community, MaRico is one who commits himself wholeheartedly to a life of service. The Vail Parenting Network (VPN), The South East Regional Council (SERC), and the board for the YMCA are all local organizations that benefit from the leadership that MaRico brings to the table. The Tippett’s have been a united front, actively shaping the future of our community in countless ways. MaRico shares a common passion for quality of life and the partnerships that have been developed with business owners throughout the community. Having his focused attention, coming alongside of these partnerships and strengthening relationships will be a game changer for our region! It is with great honor that the Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce introduces MaRico Tippett as our President and CEO and an advocate for business leaders across the southeast region!
