We’re only a few hours away from officially saying goodbye to 2014 and ringing in the New Year. Tonight is one of the biggest party nights of the year. It’s a night to let go of the mistakes, problems, and challenges of 2014 and embrace the possibility of 2015.

While you’re searching for the best place to clink champagne glasses at midnight and scream the traditional 10, 9, 8… countdown at the top of your lungs, you might be surprised to learn that you don’t have to drive too far. That’s a relief because the AAA Tipsy Tow only drives 10 miles from the bar to your house and taking a taxi from downtown can immediately put a crick in that New Year’s resolution of saving money.

To help you narrow your search for where to ring in 2015, here is a guide to the restaurants where you can celebrate New Year’s Eve in Vail (or at least close by).

Montgomery’s

Montgomery’s is our local pub-style bar. Tonight it transforms into a party spot with music, dancing, food, drink specials, and of course a champagne toast at midnight.

Their famous prime rib dinner starts at 5 p.m. Then at 9 p.m., Desert DJ’s will rock the dance floor with some music.

Hacienda del Lago

If you’re looking for a little bit more of a tame New Year’s Eve, Hacienda del Lago is your spot. Reservations are required, so call 647-3109 right away to book your spot. A special New Year’s Eve menu will be served and a complimentary Champagne toast will happen at midnight.

Gary Ray’s

This BBQ restaurant will be open later than usual tonight to help you celebrate. They’ve brought in live music to create a lively atmosphere while you say farewell to 2014. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and dinner is served until 8:30 p.m. After that 2Lazy2Ranch and Andy Hersey take over on the microphone while food and drink specials are served up to guests. There is a $10 cover charge for the music.

Saguaro Corners

Just down the road from Gary Ray’s is another local restaurant hosting a New Year’s Eve bash. Get there early to watch the University of Arizona win the Fiesta Bowl. Then stay for the concert by Jay Faircloth.

No matter where you decide to celebrate, we wish you a very Happy and Safe New Year!
