Sharing the Holiday Magic: The Vail USD Holiday Angel Program Welcomes Your Support
Every child deserves to experience the magic and joy of the holiday season. Here in the Vail Unified School District, we pride ourselves on being a community that shows up for one another, believing deeply that supporting our children and youth is a community effort.
For many families, the holidays are a time of celebration and togetherness. However, for those facing economic hardships, this season can bring immense stress and difficult choices. To support our local families, our school counselors and student services coordinators work closely with the community to run the VUSD Holiday Angel Program, acknowledging that for many children, the gifts provided through this program directly fulfill their most basic and essential needs.
The impact of this program is tangible. Through the extraordinary kindness of Vail residents, businesses, faith groups, and school staff, we have historically connected hundreds of deserving children with generous donors. As community needs continue to evolve, we are once again looking for “Angels” who want to make a real, positive difference in a child’s life.
How You Can Help
Becoming an Angel is simple, flexible, and deeply rewarding. We provide each sponsor with a wish list created by a specific child, detailing their clothing sizes, likes, and favorite things. We ask sponsors to provide one need, one want, clothing, hygiene products and stocking stuffers from that list.
You can support the program by sponsoring an individual child or family, by making a general donation for unsponsored children, or by giving essential items like hoodies, running shoes, hygiene products, and gift cards
Gifts are dropped off to schools unwrapped and labeled with an assigned anonymous Angel number on or before December 7th, 2026.
