McCulloch-Wagner American Legion Post 109 celebrated their 40th birthday in January. Original membership consisted of a small group of veterans and some family members of members who met at varying locations in Vail. Throughout the past forty years, the Post 109 Family has grown to an organization of well over 1,000 members. During the ensuing yearsproperty was purchased, and existing buildings were erected at 15921 South Houghton Road, Corona de Tucson, largely contributed to by the volunteer efforts and financial contributions of dedicated and generous Post 109 Family members. Along with the growth of this patriotic veterans organization came the pride and privilege members enjoy of making increased contributions to veterans, our rapidly growing community and children and youth.

The Auxiliary Junior Girls group has been up and running well for the past two years. They are currently conducting a fundraising activity of placing American flags in subscribers’ yards on nine patriotic holidays. Please consider supporting this fine project by your participation. The young ladies and their leader will place an American flag and pole on your property for a subscription fee of $50.00 for the first year and $30.00 for succeeding years. The flags will be removed by the group and reposted on the following holiday. This idea was formulated not only as a fundraiser but as a way for local citizens to show their support of the USA. Call 520-468-8512 between 4:30PM and 10PM if you wish to contribute.

Please note that the reasonably priced and wellprepared meals served in the Post 109 dining room are open to the public and are served in a smoke free, child friendly environment.

The Post 109 Family hardheartedly welcomes new members of veterans and certain family members of same who are eligible to join the largest patriotic veterans organization in America.
