On December 9th in 2015, the Shrine of Santa Rita in the Desert in Vail, AZ was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the only Catholic Church in the United States built in memory of a Japanese citizen, the chemist Dr. Jokichi Takamine who was the first person to isolate and purify adrenaline.
