As school has begun again in the Vail community, local Pima County 4H clubs are beginning a new year. Project leaders and youth are planning their 2018-2019 4H programs and projects. The Little Rascals 4H Club is a Vail community 4H club that provides opportunities for youth to get involved in multiple 4H project areas. Pima County 4H membership includes over 800 youth members, 40 community clubs and 200 volunteers.
The Little Rascals 4H Club is one of the largest 4H clubs in Pima County and offers projects such as: Dog training and agility; art (drawing, painting, etc); cloverbuds (for ages 5-8); and showmanship/breed in the following livestock areas: and plans to add more rabbit, poultry, swine, steer and pygmy goat.

The Little Rascals 4H Club meets monthly at Cienega High School, typically the second Tuesday of each month beginning September 2018. Each individual project leader holds several monthly meetings to help youth gain the skills and knowledge necessary to prepare for competitions and, entry in the Pima County Fair for 2019. Youth may also participate in additional projects within other Pima County 4H clubs such as: shooting sports, archery, STEM programs, gardening, photography, additional livestock projects and more. Pima County 4H has opportunities for youth in interstate exchange programs, Solar Clovers, healthy living programs and, provides youth with an opportunity to lead as Junior leaders and, youth committee members.
When compared to youth who do not participate in 4H programs:
4H youth are 2-3 times more likely to be physically active.
4H youth are 2 times more likely to attend college.
4H youth are 3-4 times more likely to contribute to their communities.
4H youth are 2 times more likely to make healthier choices.
