Broadening on the success of its inaugural 2019 Private Label Release of the Shrine of Santa Rita Wine named “Shrine Cuvee,” St. Rita in the Desert Catholic Church is pleased to announce the release its newest wines. Both will be introduced at two Italian wine-paired dinners in June. Partnering with the Cochise Wine Company (#WilcoxWines), committee members from St. Rita in the Desert blended and bottled its 2019 “Shrine Cuvee”, a Super-Tuscan blend red wine and the 2019 “La Vita Miracolosa” (the Miracle of the Stick) blended -white wine. We invite the community to attend either of the Italian wine-paired dinners at Mama Louisa’s (#MamaLouisasTucson) on June 21 or Argenziano’s (#Argenzianos) on June 26.

“We are so fortunate to have creative committee members and great partnerships to blend, bottle and release these two wonderful wines this year. With the pandemic’s restrictions behind us, we invite the community to join us and celebrate at these Italian wine-paired dinners,” said Rev. Alonzo M. Garcia, St. Rita in the Desert’s Pastor.

Celebratory Dinners Planned
The chefs from two, well-known local restaurants, Mama Louisa’s, on Craycroft in Tucson, and Argenziano’s, on Houghton in Corona de Tucson, have planned unique, three-course menus to highlight these wines’ versatility. These private dinner events will be held at Mama Louisa’s on Tuesday, June 21 beginning at 4:30pm, and at Argenziano’s on Sunday, June 26 at beginning 4:00pm. Dinner tickets are $50.00 per person; advanced purchase required. Both The restaurants are holding two dinner seatings, each with a maximum of 50 guestss at each. Contact St. Rita in the Desert parish office, (520) 762-9688, for more information and to purchase tickets.

“Our patroness, St. Rita of Cascia, was from Italy. Wso what better way to celebrate than in authentic Italian flare,” said Tamara Middleton, Wine Committee Chair. “These special blends were prepared by the winemakers of the Cochise Wine Company and donated for our Wine Pull and Dinners. Both Chefs are preparing special entrees to complement their distinct flavors. Personally, I am planning to attend both, each will be different. Table seating will be family style so be ready to meet new people and enjoy. This event is open to the public.”
Proceeds from the Italian dinners and wine sales will go to the St. Rita in the Desert’s capital campaign to fund projects in the service of the parish and burgeoning Vail community.
