Love, I think, is something a lot of people take for granted. When people hear the word love they mostly conclude that it’s about a couple, when love can be in many different types of relationships; such as families, friends, romantic partners, pets, etc. In fact, the definition of love says, “A proud and acting affection towards someone.” Since February is known as the month of love I would like to share my feelings on some people and things I love.
To start I would like to talk about my best friend Izzy. She means the world to me. I have known her since we were both in strollers. Me and Izzy have been through a lot together but we have always been there for the other. I don’t know what I would do without her. She has such a bright soul and is just a genuinely caring person, she never wants to hurt anyone and is just such a beacon of light. I could never understand how no one could like a person like her. I can’t wait to see what she does in the world and how many lives she touches.
These five people have changed my senior year for the better. Nina, Sabrina, Jeremey, Adam, and Cyrus have all made my end of the school year something I could never forget. The trips and talks I’ve had with this group mean a lot to me and I feel like I have an actual friend group when around them. They have given me the confidence to do what I want to do and know that I have people that will back me up on that, and I feel the same way for them.
I would like to mention my family, sure we have hard times but I love them all very much. The support and love we all share for each other makes me grateful and fortunate to have them.
The last thing I want to talk about is writing. Writing has been my main passion for years now. It’s the one thing I don’t get tired of doing, whether that be fiction or nonfiction, I love it all. Writing is my way of communicating and expressing myself. I feel like everyone has a story to tell and writing is such an amazing tool to show people how creative or important something is.
As you can see by just my examples there are many different kinds of love and relationships that happen through affection. Love is all around us and is important to our day-to-day lives. It’s what keeps us going and makes us who we are. It’s that support system or that passion you have for something. Love is an amazing thing and something we should look into more and not take for granted.
