Savannah Sorenson, a student at Empire High School (EHS) in Tucson, Arizona, has won ExpressVPN’s Future of Privacy Scholarship 2018 with her faux news article on the Carson Treaty.

The Future of Privacy is an annual essay-writing competition to raise awareness of internet privacy and security all around the world and receives thousands of submissions each year. Savannah’s essay reflects an increasing awareness among students and young adults, in Arizona and across the US, of the need to protect their security and privacy online. As Savannah says, “You can’t assume that you can use modern technology and not take steps to protect your own digital security.”
